IMEI number is no longer safe!

There was a time here, when the mobile is lost or stolen, it can help the police track your mobile phone's IMEI number, but the IMEI number is no longer safe, and now some can easily be replaced with easily available black market tools.

After stolen your mobile phone, criminals can now replace the IMEI number and can sell it completely as a separate mobile phone in the market. The big concern here is that such a tool is easily available in the black market.

How does IMEI help trace a stolen mobile phone?

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15 digit number associated with every mobile phone. It's different for every phone, and so every handset has a unique identification number. So far this number is considered safe. IMEI number can be lost or stolen mobile phones can be found ...

What has changed now?

According to the internal schedule, the IMEI number is a device called Fleisher, like a regular Wi-Fi router, a mobile phone can be connected to a PC and digits can be changed in the IMEI number. It's really a matter of concern!

After replacing IMEI with another unique number, the origin of the lost mobile phone can never be found. However, this means that there can be two or more mobile phones with the same IMEI number. According to reports, unethical operators need to change the IMEI number to 200-500 per device. As well as the flasher. 2,000 - Rs. From Rs 5,000 to Rs.

This is easier said than done in Mediatek than Qualcomm.

Obviously, IMEI numbers in the device which operates low-cost Mediatek processors are easier to replace compared to Qualcomm processors compared to computers. Qualcomm phones are difficult to crack, although it is not impossible. But, it is impossible to replace Apple's handset's IMEI number, as Flasher does not work with iPhones. But stolen iPhones are stripped and sold for parts.

Delhi Police has recently violated modules, which have been included in changing the IMEI number of the highest phones in the NCR. In February this year, eight people got Rs. 1.3 million - Replaced phones with their IMEI numbers were captured.

In another case, the Delhi crime branch busted another gang, who operated illegal iPhone workshops near Karol Bagh. They were caught with 409 iPhones, 18 iPads and some destroyed devices, which cost almost Rs. 1 crore.

Can the phone be found again?

Very rarely, the IMEI number of the stolen phone remains intact after the fact, and the police can detect a stolen device and return it to the original owner. The police retain the database of stolen devices, and feed the phone's IMEI numbers in the database. Without an IMEI number, it is not possible to trace a stolen device. So effectively, the possibility of recovering stolen mobile phones is easily impossible in this era of hacking tools available.

What precautions can I take?

You can take some basic precautions to ensure that even if your device stops, your data remains intact.

Always put a lock on your smartphone. A strong password that seems to be used every day determines whether your sensitive and personal data is not in the wrong hands

Never use personalized information like bank account numbers or other passwords in clear text, rather than digital voice and password managers, which are easily available in the Play Store. In this way you only have to remember a key password.

Be sure to activate the mobile tracking feature on your smartphone. As long as the smartphone is active, you can track it through Google's tracking service. If you think your phone is unlikely to be retrieved, you can remove your smartphone data to ensure its integrity.

Finally, take care while using your smartphone in public, so be aware of the people around you.
